I have a few questions to ask about service dogs. This is just plainly to feed my curiosity. Are service dogs puposefully bred? No some breeds are used more often than others, mostly labs, some shepherds. Any dog if properly trained from a young age can become a service dog. Usually a larger dog is chosen as they can be more useful to people
Are service dogs puposefully bred?
Do people source dogs to train from other avenues ? If so where?

WALLACEBURG — Trustees with the St. Clair Catholic School Board have approved a policy recommendation to allow the use of service dogs in schools by students. The intent of the policy reflects the board's commitment to giving students with disabilities the same opportunity to access its services. "We want to give everybody an equal opportunity to access an education in our system," said education superintendent Ann Sutton at the board's meeting Tuesday. "We currently have had no students who need to access such protocols, but in the future it is quite foreseeable that we would," said Sutton.
