I plan on doing a lot over the course of these upcoming summer months, one of which is community service. As you can tell from my avatar I want to go to Columbia University but that doesn't relate to my question at hand though. The question is this: As
As a 16 year old you can probably do community service at hospitals, etc. You need to contact each of them directly to find out which will let 16 year olds volunteer and which won't. They each have their own volunteer rules. Just ask for their Volunteer

I am sure they would not only like the fact that you have devoted some time to your community, but also gone beyond just doing your community service time, by throwing a fund raising event and making a nice donation. Volunteer at your local non-profit animal shelter while volunteering think up some good ideas for a fund raiser. A lot of hospitals offer volunteer programs for teens, and colleges LOVE it. it might not be easy to get a job there though – you have to get a bunch of documents signed by official people. Raise as much money as you can, then make a donation. that’s the simple way to say it. but getting those papers signed makes you seem really prestigious and smart. you should look into it because it’s probably different for each hospital.
