What is a "Cost Approach (if developed)" on an appraisal?
What is a "Cost Approach (if developed)" on an appraisal? We are trying to buy a house and it appraised at 120,000, but says the cost approach is 130,000... I'm getting mixed messages looking online, so what does it mean to the buyer?
Appraisals are done using three methods:
1. Cost approach - the amount it would cost to build the house
2. Market value approach - the amount other similar houses have sold for in recent weeks
3. Income approach - the amount
